Junction 42 was invited to help restore a piece of history. Tortilla Flat is the last existing stage coach town in Arizona. The town was incorporated in 1904 to assist with the building of the Roosevelt Dam. For over 120 years, the town has been a destination for travelers worldwide.

We brought everything to the table! Feng shui, floor and wall murals, signs, art installations, redesign of the museum, a new soundscape, a newspaper, brand design, social media strategy, deep levels of consulting, and even visitor traffic flow!

Tortilla Flat: Restoring a Historic Stagecoach Town

Restored and New Signs, Murals, and New Characters

Since 1904, this little town has seen it all, and was feeling the weathering of the Arizona Wilderness. With a renovation of the town came repainting iconic signs and murals to maintain the character of the town and also to add new life, and fresh ideas to uplift and inspire the global visitors.

Restoration of the Schoolhouse Museum

The Tortilla Flat Museum is an original frontier schoolhouse from the 1930s. We took over and revamped the entire experience.
Our process put 120 years of history into a logical sequence. We designed everything from the ground up and worked with the construction crew to revive the space. The patio, school bell, soundscape, graphic design, historical accuracy, and custom framing were all supported and created by Jct 42.
